Returns & Refunds

Last updated: TODO: confirm publish date

We want you to love everything you buy from us. If something isn't right, here's exactly how returns work.

1. Your right to cancel

Because you're buying online, you're covered by the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. You have 14 days from the day you receive your order to change your mind and let us know you'd like to return it, and a further 14 days from telling us to send the item back.

To start a return, email info@wychvintage.co.uk with your order number and which item(s) you'd like to return. We'll confirm the next steps by reply.

2. Condition on return

Because most of what we sell is pre-loved and one-of-a-kind, we ask that returned items come back to us in the same condition they were sent - clothing unworn beyond trying on and unwashed, with any original tags or labels still attached; cards and cases in the sleeves, cases or packaging they arrived in, with sealed product still sealed.

Items returned worn, damaged, altered, or in a noticeably different condition to how they were sent may not be eligible for a full refund.

3. Who pays return postage

You're responsible for the cost of returning an item to us, unless the item is faulty or was not as described (see section 4). We recommend using a tracked service, as we can't take responsibility for parcels lost in transit back to us.

4. Flaws, condition grading, and what counts as "faulty"

Pre-loved items carry the marks of their history - that's part of what makes them one-of-a-kind. We check every item and note its condition honestly before listing it, using our condition guide (Excellent, Very good, Good, Fair).

If a flaw is described in the listing - a small mark, a replaced button, light fading, whitening on a card edge, for example - it is not a fault. It's part of the item as sold, and priced accordingly. This isn't grounds for a return under section 4, though you're still welcome to return it under your 14-day right to cancel (section 1).

If we've missed something - a flaw not disclosed in the listing that a reasonable buyer wouldn't expect - that is a fault, and section 1's return postage rule doesn't apply: we'll cover the cost of return postage and issue a full refund, including your original delivery charge.

If you're ever unsure whether something is a described feature or a genuine fault, email us a photo at info@wychvintage.co.uk before sending anything back - we're happy to take a look.

5. How to start a return

  1. Email info@wychvintage.co.uk with your order number and the item(s) you'd like to return, within 14 days of receiving your order.
  2. We'll reply with return instructions and an address to send it to.
  3. Pack the item securely, in the condition it arrived, and post it back to us using a tracked service.
  4. We'll confirm by email once we've received and checked it.

6. Refunds

Once we've received and checked your returned item, we'll process your refund to your original payment method within TODO: confirm, typically 5–14 days . Refunds are issued via Stripe and typically appear on your statement within a few working days after that, depending on your bank.

Where a return is due to our error or a genuine fault (see section 4), we'll also refund your original delivery charge. Where you've simply changed your mind, your original delivery charge is refunded, but your return postage cost is not.

7. Exchanges

Because most of what we sell is a single, one-off item, we're not able to offer like-for-like exchanges. If you'd like a different size or item, please return your original item for a refund and place a new order - but be quick, as things don't tend to hang around.
